Pelargoniums Sentimental Favorites

Sentimental Favorites is a catch-all designation for plants that we all enjoy but fit into a number of different categories. The nursery has at least two tulip flowered pelargoniums, some birds egg, and some Stellars, but not enough to put in separate categories. If you are looking for something particular please contact us, as we may well have it.

We are often given plants here at the nursery, and many of these are noteworthy but we do not have names for them. We'll post pictures here next spring, but if you're interested, please send us an email!

Pelargonium 'Winnifred'
Pelargonium 'Winnifred' is a zonal. The original seed was collected in East Freemantle, Western Australia about 1935 by Winnifred Werner, who, as a school girl, saw it growing in a garden as she walked home. She grew it at the family home and collected seed from it on one of her trips back from the United States in the 1950's. It is one of the 'Painted Ladies' but its ancestor's name has been lost, if it was ever known. It is very floriferous and easy to grow. SOLD OUT UNTIL JULY 2021

'Splendide' is best grown in a greenhouse or conservatory, but can be grown outside if protected from rain and temperatures below 40 degrees F. Prune carefully and water sparingly.
